The Web 10 Years Ago

What is the internet?

The internet is a universal medium that links information that we see and hear and allow to enter into our minds. It has become a boundless network connecting computers all over the world. The internet at this point in time allows us to interact and share information and communicate anywhere and with anyone.

Where is the internet?

The internet is all over the world with interconnected servers controlled by many of the largest internet companies.

What is not the internet?

I do not think an individual server is considered to be part of the internet.

How many internets are there?

Possibly three; internet of people, internet of servers, and internet of things.

What is the internet becoming?

The internet is becoming a universal medium that gives us freedom to create and experiment new ways to read and write, as well as help increase our mental capabilities.

Is the internet alive?

Because of its continued existence and constant use, the internet can be considered alive. Although it does not fall into the typical definition of alive since it is not a person, animal, or plant, but, it has meaning and purpose.

What do you love about the internet?

What I love about the internet is having the ability to visit or converse with family and friends across the United States and other countries also. Since the emergence of COVID-19 and living through this pandemic, on-line shopping has been a godsend. Researching different things, music, streaming movies, and skillfully navigating and driving any place I need to go, even in the boonies without difficulty, are other reasons I love the internet.

What scares you?

What scares me most about the internet is that is has become a hackers paradise, and privacy is becoming obsolete for all of us.
